This is the story going around about the young boy who hanged himself with his belt in his room due to being bullied at school for supposedly being gay. here is an excerpt from the article, that you can read here...

"He used to say Mom they keep telling me this ... this gay word, this gay, gay, gay. I'm tired of hearing it, they're telling me the same thing over and over," she told CNN, as she wiped away tears from her face.

But while she says her son complained about the bullying, she had no idea how bad it had gotten.

"He told me, but he just got to the point where he didn't want me to get involved anymore because nothing was done," she said.


What is sad, and I dont think many parents (or adults) realize this, is that you dont feel like adults will help in these situations (or that they CAN help)...I remember spending my entire life, during my school years, being harrassed and bullied. I was chased through the halls at my high school by the football team...did anyone do anything? no.

So, pay attention to those around you. If you feel someone is down, depressed, being bullied, or suicidal - be sure to help them...be there for them.

firefighters sue for unwelcomed gay advances?

There is an article talking about how 4 firefighters sued the city for sexual harassment after being told to be a part of a gay pride parade in san diego.

Now, how were they harassed? Well, while at the pride parade (that they were against attending, but were made to attend because its their RESPONSIBILITY to be there as government employees)they saw guys groping each other and were constantly hit on.

boohoo.

This to me is very similar to the cops we used to have patrolling the gayborhood here in Dallas. They hated the job, and many of the police would harass the gays that were partying on the strip.

makes me wonder....could we sue the police for harassment?

finally, felony charges have been filed against chris brown in the rihanna case.

according to the article listed above:

Brown is expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats. The 19-year-old R&B singer remains free on $50,000 bail.

I hope that this helps in pushing this issue to light, that NO MAN OR WOMAN has the right to abuse, physically or otherwise, their boyfriend, lover, wife, spouse, or equivalent.

I just pray he gets convicted. And I hope that those who have defended him will finally be free to see that they are a**holes in supporting this abuse.

....Two versions of a bill in Congress would enshrine a journalist’s right to keep his or her sources confidential, effectively banning the government from forcing journalists to reveal whistleblowers. One version though—the House version—gives an incredibly stupid definition of journalist that excludes not only bloggers, but freelancers, independents, and nonprofit journalists as well.

So, in effect, if journalism is a hobby or passion you do as a public service, or if you are a freelancer without a boss—both of which easily describe a blogger—then the government reserves the right to force you to tell them who told you something, much like the government tried to do with New York Times journalist Judy Miller under the Bush Administration.

Apparently our “representatives” have a real problem with citizen journalism done for the sake of journalism and for the good of democracy, and believe protecting the “free flow of information” is only reserved for officially approved press. No bloggers, no patriotic radicals, no underground agitator pamphleteers like the ones who actually founded and fought for this country to begin with.

Hate to (once again) school our freaking government about the freaking Constitution they freaking pledge to uphold, but this is Congress making a law abridging the freedom of the press, a violation of the First Amendment. I might be more sympathetic if they missed one further down the list, BUT IT’S THE FIRST FREAKING ONE.

By defining who is and who is not considered press, and therefore deciding who is entitled to special protection—in this case, especially, where they base it on who does it for money and who does it for passion (hint: the latter one is more likely to dig up something that matters)—the House of Representatives are doing us all a huge disservice if they don’t change that language.
